1. Massage Services
Massage Essence provides professional massage and related wellness services.
Our services are intended for relaxation, wellness, muscle tension, soreness, recovery, and general comfort. Massage services are not medical care and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, injury, or medical condition.
Massage Essence is not a substitute for a physician, physical therapist, chiropractor, or other healthcare provider. If you have questions about whether massage is appropriate for you, you should consult an appropriate healthcare professional.
2. Adults Only
Massage Essence provides services only to customers who are 18 years of age or older.
By booking an appointment or receiving services, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
3. Appointments
Appointments may be booked online through Square Appointments or by contacting Massage Essence.
Online appointments may be automatically confirmed through Square. Although an appointment may initially appear confirmed, availability may occasionally change due to therapist availability, staffing, scheduling conflicts, emergencies, technical issues, or other circumstances.
If we are unable to honor an appointment, we may contact you by phone, text message, email, or another contact method associated with your booking.
Massage Essence reserves the right to reschedule or cancel appointments when reasonably necessary.
4. Appointment Communications
By providing contact information when booking, you agree that Massage Essence and our booking provider may contact you regarding your appointment, including:
- confirmations;
- reminders;
- schedule changes;
- cancellations;
- customer-service matters; and
- other communications reasonably related to your appointment.
These communications are operational and are not consent to promotional marketing messages.
5. Walk-Ins
Walk-ins are welcome during normal business hours.
Walk-in availability depends on therapist, room, and scheduling availability at the time you arrive. We cannot guarantee immediate availability for walk-in customers.
6. Cancellations and Schedule Changes
We understand that plans change.
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please notify us as soon as reasonably possible. When possible, we appreciate at least one hour of advance notice.
Massage Essence does not currently charge a standard cancellation or no-show fee.
We reserve the right to update our appointment or cancellation policies for future bookings. Any applicable policy will be disclosed before it applies.
7. Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time for your appointment.
If you expect to be late, call us as soon as possible at (714) 668-1278.
Depending on how late you arrive and the appointments scheduled after yours, we may need to:
- reschedule your appointment;
- ask you to wait for the next available therapist; or
- cancel the appointment if we are no longer able to accommodate the original time.
We do not shorten a scheduled massage solely because you arrived late.
We cannot guarantee that your original appointment can still be accommodated if you arrive late.
8. Therapist and Service Availability
Specific therapists, rooms, massage techniques, appointment times, or preferences are subject to availability.
Although we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, Massage Essence does not guarantee:
- a particular therapist;
- a particular room;
- a particular massage technique;
- a particular pressure level;
- immediate walk-in availability; or
- any particular physical result.
We may substitute therapists or adjust scheduling when reasonably necessary.
9. Communicating Your Preferences
Massage is a personal experience, and customers are encouraged to communicate openly with their therapist.
Before and during your massage, please let your therapist know:
- your preferred pressure;
- areas you would like more attention on;
- areas you would prefer they avoid;
- whether anything feels uncomfortable; and
- any other preference relevant to your comfort.
Pressure or technique may be adjusted at any time upon request.
You may also ask to end the massage at any time.
10. Customer Responsibility for Relevant Information
You are responsible for informing your therapist before the session of any condition, injury, sensitivity, allergy, pregnancy, recent procedure, or other circumstance that may affect whether or how massage should be performed.
Massage Essence does not require customers to submit medical histories through our website or online booking system.
If you are unsure whether massage is appropriate for you, consult an appropriate healthcare professional before receiving services.
11. Professional Conduct
Massage Essence provides professional massage services only.
Sexual requests, sexual conduct, harassment, threats, abusive behavior, inappropriate touching, or other misconduct toward therapists, employees, contractors, or customers is strictly prohibited.
Massage Essence and its therapists may immediately stop or terminate a massage session if conduct is inappropriate, unsafe, threatening, abusive, or inconsistent with a professional massage environment.
A customer may also be denied future service.
Where appropriate, unlawful conduct may be reported to law enforcement.
12. Right to Refuse Service
Massage Essence reserves the right, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to refuse, discontinue, or deny service to any person.
This may include, without limitation, circumstances involving:
- inappropriate or abusive conduct;
- harassment or threats;
- intoxication or impairment;
- hygiene concerns;
- suspected contagious illness or condition;
- safety concerns;
- therapist discomfort;
- customer discomfort;
- scheduling or staffing limitations;
- inability to reasonably provide a requested service;
- repeated misuse of appointment scheduling;
- fraudulent activity; or
- other legitimate business, operational, professional, or safety reasons.
We may also decline future appointments or restrict booking access where reasonably appropriate.
Nothing in this section authorizes discrimination prohibited by applicable law.
13. Illness, Hygiene, and Safety
Massage Essence may refuse or discontinue service if a customer appears seriously ill, presents symptoms of a potentially contagious condition, presents a significant hygiene concern, or if a therapist reasonably believes proceeding with the service would be unsafe or inappropriate.
Customers who are sick or contagious are encouraged to reschedule.
14. Pricing
Current pricing is displayed on our website, booking system, or at the studio.
We may change prices for future services at any time.
Price changes do not retroactively alter the price of a completed service.
If there is an obvious typographical, technical, or pricing error on our website or booking platform, we may correct the error.
Applicable taxes, charges, or add-ons, if any, will be disclosed where required.
15. Payments
Payments may be processed through Square or another payment processor used by Massage Essence.
Massage Essence does not directly collect or store payment-card numbers through massage-essence.com.
Payment processing may also be subject to the processor’s own terms and privacy policies.
16. Gratuities
Gratuities are optional.
Customers may choose whether and how much to tip their massage therapist.
Nothing on our website requires a particular gratuity amount unless expressly disclosed at the point of payment.
17. Service Concerns and Refunds
If you have a concern about your massage or experience, please notify our front desk as soon as possible so we have an opportunity to address it.
Because massage services are performed at the time of the appointment, completed services are generally not refundable, except where required by law or where Massage Essence determines otherwise in its discretion.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights under applicable law.
18. Gift Cards
Massage Essence sells gift cards that may be redeemed for eligible Massage Essence services.
Gift cards are subject to applicable California law.
Unless an exception under applicable law applies:
- Massage Essence gift cards do not expire;
- we do not impose dormancy or inactivity fees;
- gift cards may be used toward eligible Massage Essence services; and
- balances that must be redeemed for cash under California law will be handled accordingly.
California generally requires a gift card with a remaining cash value of less than $10 to be redeemable for cash.
Gift cards are not credit or debit cards and are not redeemable for cash except where required by law.
Massage Essence also honors qualifying Massage Essence gift cards issued before Ji Er LLC acquired the business, subject to reasonable verification and applicable business records.
We may require reasonable proof of validity for older or legacy gift cards.
Lost, stolen, damaged, altered, duplicated, counterfeit, or fraudulent gift cards may be denied or subject to verification before redemption.

26. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims, liabilities, or expenses resulting from your unlawful use of the website, fraudulent bookings, intentional misconduct, or violation of these Terms.
This section does not require you to indemnify Massage Essence for our own unlawful conduct or liability that cannot legally be shifted to you.
